Welcome to Ask the Concierge — your personal guide to Mallorca

Looking for that hidden cala where the water turns turquoise and the crowds never seem to find?

This is the place to ask. Whether it is a restaurant for a special evening, a reliable builder in the Serra de Tramuntana, or the best time of year to see the almond blossoms — someone here will know.

Ask anything. The island has a lot of answers.

The the best time of year to see the almond blossoms

Late January through mid-February, usually peaking around the first week of February. The valleys around Sóller and Valldemossa are the best spots — the whole hillside turns white and pale pink.

If you drive the road from Alaró up towards Orient on a clear morning you will see some of the most beautiful groves on the island. Far quieter than Sóller too.

Worth checking the weather a few days ahead. A warm spell in January can push the bloom earlier, and a cold snap can delay it into late February.

Marta is right about the timing. One thing I would add — the almond festival in Son Servera (Fira de sa Flor d’Ametler) usually runs the first weekend of February. Live music, local food stalls, and guided walks through the orchards. It is a lovely way to see the blossoms if you want more than just the drive.
