View Mallorca just published a great guide to the best viewpoints in northern Mallorca. They cover Mirador Es Colomer, Cap de Formentor Lighthouse, El Calvari in Pollença, Talaia d’Alcúdia, and several more.
I’d add a couple of personal favourites:
- The road up to Ermita de Betlem near Artà – incredible views across the bay
- The old watchtower at Sa Talaia Moreia above Cala Rajada

El Calvari at sunset is unbeatable. Those 365 steps are worth every one of them. I go at least once a month – it’s like a meditation.
For a hidden gem, try the viewpoint at the end of the road to Sa Calobra, just before you start the descent. There’s a pull-off where you can see the entire Torrent de Pareis gorge from above. Most people are so focused on getting down to the beach that they miss it.
Also the Mirador de Ricardo Roca between Andratx and Estellencs is technically northwest, not north, but it’s one of the most dramatic views on the island.
Puig de Sant Martí is such a good shout. We take visitors there because you can drive almost to the top and the 360° views are incredible – bay of Alcúdia, the mountains, everything.
Another one most people miss: the watchtower at Cala Mesquida. Short walk from the beach car park and you get amazing views up and down the coast. Perfect for sunset too.
