Morning yoga, evening calm: where to practise on the island

Mallorca has become one of the stronger wellness destinations in Europe — not the spa-hotel kind, but the kind that actually works: small studios, independent teachers, good settings.

A few places and practitioners worth knowing:

Earth Yoga (Sóller Valley). A wooden shala set among lemon trees. Small classes, good teachers, and a setting that makes the practice feel like a natural part of the morning.

Ama Retreats (Artà). Boutique retreat centre that runs week-long programmes. Yoga, meditation, excellent food. The architecture is beautiful — a renovated possessió in the hills.

Yoga Palma (Santa Catalina). Urban studio with a good range of classes. Iyengar, vinyasa, yin. Convenient if you’re based in the city.

Mar de Yoga (Port de Sóller). Overlooking the harbour. A good drop-in option if you’re in the area. The terrace classes in summer are hard to beat for setting.

Wild swimming / cold water. Not yoga, but worth mentioning — the sea here is clean, accessible and uncrowded for much of the year. A morning swim at Cala Deià or Illetes in November is its own form of practice.

Where do you go? Any teachers or studios that have made a real difference?
