MARE FOTO 26 – underwater photography exhibition

Has anyone checked out MARE FOTO 26? It’s a photography exhibition focused on the Mediterranean marine environment.

As someone who’s been getting into underwater photography here, I find the marine life around Mallorca endlessly photogenic. The Posidonia meadows, the rock formations, the clarity of the water – it’s a photographer’s dream.

Anyone else into underwater photography? Would love to swap favourite dive/snorkel spots for photo opportunities. The marine reserve at Cala Figuera (near Cap de Cala Figuera, not the town) is my current favourite – the visibility is incredible.

Fellow underwater photographer here! The marine reserve areas are by far the best spots. My top three:

  1. Illa del Sec (off Calvià) – incredible wall dives with grouper and barracuda
  2. Dragonera marine reserve – pristine Posidonia and amazing visibility
  3. Cala Ratjada area – the artificial reef project there has attracted loads of marine life

For snorkelling with a camera, Cala Varques has fantastic rocky formations and the light in the afternoon creates amazing rays through the water.
